In 2022 Billboard Magazine joined a partnership with Veva Play after the official Rolling Stone chart was canceled. Billboard Magazine now operates as a sponsor to Veva Play, by assisting the chart financially with funding for web development purposes. Veva Play was first establish in 2017. The chart became so popular over the internet that it gained the attention of Penske Media Corp.
